This was a big week for football fans, with a lot of important action on the field. Once again, several teams made their case for why they should be #1, as LSU and Oklahoma won big over ranked opponents and Alabama pitched another shutout. Here are all the highlights from around the Top 25.
October 6, 2011 The 2011 college football season enters week six this weekend, with a number of big games on the schedule, involving teams in the Associated Press top-25 poll.
The top-ranked LSU Tigers play host to the 17th-ranked Florida Gators on Satuday, in a big SEC contest.
Also in the SEC, The 15th ranked Auburn Tigers will face the Arkansas Razorbacks, who are ranked tenth this week.
In The Big Ten, #14 Nebraska will face Ohio St., in the first meeting between to two schools in 55 years.
And of course, it's the annual Red River Rivalry, featuring #3 Oklahoma, and #11 Texas.

September 30, 2011 It’s week number five of the college football season. And, the first vote in the Harris Interactive Poll is this weekend. As a result, some of the games I’m interested in feature teams that are ranked or have the possibility of being ranked. Here are five that I’m keeping an eye on:
September 14, 2011 I'm really looking forward to the Cajuns' home opener this weekend against Nicholls State. Weather should be great, the Cajuns are coming off a solid win, an in-state opponent is coming to town which will help the crowd somewhat and people are excited about what Coach Mark Hudspeth is bringing to the table.
While many of this weekend’s games were just tune-ups for showdowns to come, there were several great battles to keep things exciting, including Michigan’s last-second win over Notre Dame, South Carolina’s shootout victory over Georgia and Auburn stuffing Mississippi State at the goal line to win their 17th straight game.
