Hornets Comeback Falls Short, Lose 3rd Straight

The New Orleans Hornets trailed by 17 in the 4th quarter at Memphis before storming back to cut it to 2. It was a small lineup consisting mostly of Hornet reserves that spurred the comeback, but they couldn't complete it. In the end, the Grizzlies handed the Hornets their 3rd straight loss.

Hornets Bit By Timberwolves, Fall to 3-8

The New Orleans Hornets lost their second consecutive game Friday night at the Hive, falling to the Minnesota Timerwolves 87-80. Marco Belinelli (pictured above) finished with a season-high 20 points in the loss. Ricky Rubio made his first career start for Minnesota, ending the game with 12 points and 9 assists. Desperate for outside shooting, the New Orleans Hornets made a trade today to acquire second year shooting guard Xavier Henry from the Memphis Grizzlies. Henry, a 20 year old sharp shooting two guard out of Kansas, was taken 12th overall in the 2010 NBA draft.

NBA Owners Donate Millions to Vietnam Memorial Project

NBA team owners Michael Heisley of the Memphis Grizzlies and Peter Holt of the San Antonio Spurs have made the largest private donations toward a project that will honor the 58,000 veterans killed during the Vietnam War and be located on the site of the Washington, D.C. memorial.

Holt, a decorated Vietnam vet who contributed $1 million and will match any donations made by other Texas residents, said, “We want to create an education center that puts faces to the names on that wall, but also help people understand as less and less people serve in the military what the military has done for the United States.”

Thunder Take Game 7, Westbrook Sensational

Oklahoma City was rocking as the home crowd watched their Thunder defeat the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 7 by the score of 105-90. Kevin Durant scored 39 points, while Russell Westbrook had his first playoff triple-double. It was Westbrook's finest moment as a pro. Grizzlies Push Series To 7

The Grizzlies flexed their muscles in Memphis last night on their way to an impressive 95-83 victory in Game 6 to tie the series at 3-3. Now the Grizzlies and Thunder will play the first Game 7 of this postseason Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma City.
