New NBA Deal Needs To Even Playing Field

In the last two weeks, I've been asked many questions on the air, and via e-mail, regarding the NBA lockout. My position of what a new NBA deal should look like hasn't changed in 3 years. The league needs to even the playing field for teams in smaller markets. Otherwise, the league will only survive, rather than flourish.

Monty Williams And Staff Attend Saints Camp

With the NBA locked out, New Orleans Hornets head coach Monty Williams and some of his assistants attended Saints camp yesterday. Williams did the same a year ago, and claimed he learned a few things. Saints coach Sean Payton and Williams are friends, and Payton spoke to Monty between drills.

4 Or 5 Buyers Interested In Buying Hornets

NBA Commissioner David Stern claims that "4 or 5" buyers have engaged the league about buying the New Orleans Hornets and keeping them in the Crescent City. Stern also believes the Hornets are continuing to display signs of long-term viability in NOLA.

Beyond The Mic: Hornets Dissed By National TV

Despite being in a nasty labor dispute, the NBA released the 2011-2012 regular season schedule yesterday. If a season is played, the Hornets will only appear on national television twice. That's pretty insulting considering New Orleans was a playoff team a year ago, and still possess one of the league's biggest superstars in Chris Paul. The Atlanta Hawks had less wins than the Hornets a year ago, but are scheduled for 8 national TV appearances. Oh well, there probably won't be a season anyway.
