As college football’s regular season nears its end, the postseason picture is starting to take shape. Barring a major shakeup in the polls, Alabama punched its ticket to the national title game. The only thing that remains to be seen is if they’ll have another shot at top-ranked LSU. Next week’s conference championship games could shake up the BCS, while the Bedlam rivalry between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will determine the Big 12 title and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. LSU Smashes Ole Miss, 52-3
The top-ranked LSU Tigers kept their record spotless on the year, defeating the Ole Miss Rebels, 52-3, on Saturday, in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Tigers scored the first 35 points in the game, and out-gained the Rebels, 458-195, in terms of total offense.
Quarterback Jordan Jefferson was 7-of-7 passing, for 88 yards, and a touchdown, while running back Alfred Blue led the Tigers in rushing, with 74 yards on only four carries.
With the win, LSU improves to 11-0 overall, and 7-0 in SEC play, while Ole Miss falls to 2-9 overall, and 0-7 in league play.
2011 NCAA College Football – Week 12 Preview
With the season winding down, things are really starting to get tight for a lot of teams. LSU and Oklahoma State control their own destinies in the national title hunt, but there is still a lot of movement that could occur if one of those two loses. Several teams are still trying to lock up spots in their respective conference championship games while others are just trying to improve their bowl resumes.
We’ve had plenty of upsets in college football this year, and this week has all the signs of some more coming soon. NCAA College Football – Week 11 Recap
After all the disgusting headlines out of Penn State dominating the sports world this past week, it was good to return to the field with some actual football. And the Top 25 gave us plenty of excitement to discuss.
Seven ranked teams, including two in the Top Five, went down to defeat. Boise State saw its BCS hopes die on a missed field goal as time expired (again). Oregon downed Stanford in a wild Pac-12 shootout. Oklahoma State looked every bit the part of a title contender. And Penn State hit the field without Joe Paterno at the helm for the first time in 46 years. Here are all the highlights from this week in the AP Top 25.
Tigers Topple The Hilltoppers
The top ranked LSU Tigers are 10-0 for the first time since 1958 after defeating Western Kentucky by the score of 42-9. Jordan Jefferson got his first start of the season, finishing with one touchdown on 8-14 passing. Jarrett Lee saw some playing time late, finishing with a touchdown pass of his own. The Tiger defense held WKU to 86 total yards in the second half.

The top-ranked LSU Tigers return to action on Saturday evening, playing host to the WKU Hilltoppers, in non-conference play.
Both teams are coming off of hard-fought, emotional victorious, as LSU defeated Alabama, 9-6, in overtime, last week, while WKU got by FIU, 10-9.
LSU is unbeaten on the year, at 9-0 overall, and 6-0 in SEC play, while WKU has won five straight, and is 5-4 overall, and 5-1 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Kick-off time is scheduled for 6 p, at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Oklahoma and Wisconsin saw their national title hopes take a big hit, while LSU and Alabama continue on a collision course for a huge showdown in two weeks.
