Tyrone Mathieu told WVUE-TV that the former LSU star defensive back checked into the Right Step center in Houston on Monday, and that he will not play football, nor attend college, this year.

December 14, 2011 LSU Tiger cornerbacks Tyrann Mathieu and Morris Claiborne both received first-team AP All-American honors, marking the first time two CBs from the same school shared first-team honors. Punter Brad Wing made first-team as well, with guard Will Blackwell was named to the second-team. Defensive End Sam Montgomery earned third-team honors.
