The Hornets were up by 5 with 45 seconds in regulation, but let the game slip into overtime. Chris Paul's three point shot rimmed out at the end of overtime, and the Nets beat the Hornets 103-101.

January 31, 2011 New Orleans nearly completed a furious comeback in the final 20 seconds, but goaltending by Grant Hill was missed by the officials. Had the correct call been made, the game would've been tied at 104 with 4 seconds left. Phoenix hung on to win 104-102. "When I came back and looked at the film, the film doesn't lie and it was obvious that it was goaltending," Monty Williams said after the game.

Firmly in the Western Conference playoff hunt, the Hornets have found their identity, and it's a top ranked defense.
January 18, 2011 Emeka Okafor is enjoying a solid season for the New Orleans Hornets. One of only eight players averaging a double-double, Okafor has an outiside chance of making his first all-star game. If it is up to Emeka, he would prefer to play in his first playoff game. He was asked about his preference by Times Picayune journalist Jimmy Smith.

January 13, 2011 Orlando rode into New Orleans on an NBA best 9 game winning streak. The Hornets snapped it Wednesday night at the Hive, defeating the Magic in overtime 92-89. Marco Belinelli left with a sprained ankle 67 seconds into the game. Without their starting two guard, the Hornets got Marcus Thornton's best game of the season, as he scored 22 points, with 7 of those coming in overtime.
