While much of the college football world is either looking back at last week’s upsets or looking ahead to next week’s #1 vs. #2 matchup between LSU and Alabama, there is still a lot of football left to be played this week.
As the 2011 NFL season creeps closer to its halfway point, at least four teams will make starting quarterback changes in time for the games of week seven. Meanwhile, other teams may soon consider coaching changes, since eight teams have one victory or less
Two head coaches fought, while another was injured during a game, as week six of the 2011 NFL season left just the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers as the lone unbeaten team in the league.
Buffalo and San Francisco won significant victories, and Green Bay’s undefeated Packers kept on rolling after a brief brush with defeat.
Here’s a recap of all the NFL games from week five of the 2011 NFL Season:
New England 30 NY Jets 21
Running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis gained a career-high 136 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns to lead the New England Patriots over the New York Jets, 30-21
The NFL enters week five of its 2011 season — its first bye week — with just two unbeaten teams: the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers and the upstart Detroit Lions. Both teams will play in the primetime games on Sunday and Monday, respectively
It was a record-setting week for several players, and the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions are the only remaining unbeaten teams after week four of the NFL’s 2011 season. Here’s a recap of all the action:
Green Bay 49 – Denver 23
Aaron Rodgers threw for a career-high 408 yards, four touchdown passes and added two rushing scores, as the Green Bay Packers trounced the Denver Broncos 49-23
The 2011 NFL season has been unpredictable thus far. After three weeks, a team that missed the playoffs in 2010 is at the top, or tied for the lead, in every division in both the AFC and NFC. Week Four brings new tests for the three undefeated teams in Detroit, Buffalo and Green Bay and new opportunities for those squads looking for their first wins
