The Miami Dolphins have settled on Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin as their next head coach.

Philbin emerged as a lead candidate when former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher agreed to terms with the St. Louis Rams.

Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Miami interim head coach Todd Bowles, who took over when the Dolphins fired Tony Sporano were thought to be the other finalists.

The Dolphins, who struggled on offense this past season, were thought to be looking for an offensive-minded coach and Philbin is certainly that.

This could open a door for Green Bay backup quarterback Matt Flynn to make a move to Miami.  Although Flynn has said he is loyal to the Packers, but is expected to be one of the most sought-after free agent quarterbacks.
