Freshman Kevin Abel threw a complete game two hit shutout to lead Oregon State to a 5-0 win over Arkansas and a championship in the College World Series.

Abel walked two and struck out ten.  He retired the last 20 men he faced, as Arkansas did not get a base runner after the third inning.

Oregon State (55-12-1) got all the runs they would need in the bottom of the first inning when Adley Rutschman singled home Cayde Grenier and later scored on an error.  Rutschman, who was named the Most Outstanding Player, singled home another run in the third and scored another run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Abel won his fourth game of the series with his complete game effort.

Arkansas, who hit .330 during the regular season and post season before meeting Oregon State, was held under a .150 batting average in the championship series.

It's the third national title for the Beavers and their first since 2007.
