The 23rd-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team fell at home in non-conference action on Friday night, dropping a 13-5 decision to the 13th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners at Lamson Park.

The game was the first game of a three-game, non-conference series.

Oklahoma second baseman Georgia Casey collected three hits, while catcher Whitney Ellis homered and drove in two runs, as the Sooners out-hit Louisiana, 11-6.

In a losing cause for the Cajuns, second baseman Natalie Fernandez collected two hits, while catcher Lexie Elkins and outfielder Shelbi Redfearn both homered.

Kelsey Stevens (12-3) recorded the win for Oklahoma, allowing six hits, five runs, and four walks, while striking out seven in seven innings of work, while Jordan Wallace (7-2) suffered the loss, allowing seven hits, eight runs, five earned, and six walks over five innings.

With the victory, Oklahoma improved to 19-6, while Louisiana fell to 15-6-1.

The two teams will play a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 2 o'clock.
