In his one season as head coach of the Raiders, Hue Jackson went 8-8. He was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach by the late Al Davis. When Davis passed away in early October, Jackson made many of the personnel decisions in addition to his head coaching duties.

The Raiders lost starting running back Darren McFadden and starting quarterback Jason Campbell. When Campbell went down, Jackson pulled the trigger on highly questionable trade for QB Carson Palmer.

Oakland missed the playoffs for the 9th straight season.
