North Texas earned a bye in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament last night, beating Arkansas-Little Rock in overtime, 75-67.

North Texas (16-12, 9-6) got a huge game from Alzee Williams, who scored 25 points.  Tony Mitchell had 13 points and 16 rebounds.

North Texas assured itself of no worse than a fifth place finish.   The Trojans (14-15, 11-4) can still lock up the West Division and the tournament's #2 seed with a win over Arkansas State Saturday.

That was one of three games in the Sun Belt that went into overtime last night.  In Boca Raton, Mychael Ammons scored a career-high 25 points as South Alabama (8-7, 16-10) defeated Florida Atlantic (11-17, 7-8). 79-75.

And, in Miami, Emil Jones scored 17 as Troy (9-17, 4-11) outlasted FIU (7-21, 4-11) 75-70.  FIU scored only three points in the overtime period.

And, in Bowling Green, Slidell native T. J. Price hit a three pointer with two seconds remaining to give Western Kentucky (10-18, 6-9) a 79-76 win over Arkansas State.

Elsewhere, regular-season overall champion Middle Tennessee (25-4, 14-1)  hit 10-19 from three point range and blasted Louisiana-Monroe (2-26, 1-14) 94-61.
