North Texas Shuts out Host FAU

Ashley Kirk pitched a three hit shutout as #4 seed North Texas remained alive in the Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament by beating host FAU 3-0 in an elimination game.

Kirk walked one and struck out six in evening her record at 12-12 for the year.

The Mean Green (27-25-1) will advance to play the loser of the game between South Alabama and FIU.

Brooke Foster had two hits, scored twice and drove in two runs with her seventh homer of the year to pace North Texas.

Stephanie Call (1-9) went the distance and took the loss for FAU, which finished its season at 15-39.
