The field of 32 teams is set for the 2017 National Invitational Tournament.

The NIT, which began back in 1938, will begin with opening round games on March 14-15, and will culminate with the championship game on March 30 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Syracuse (18-14) and Illinois St. (27-6) are the top seeds in the event, and will host as long as they're in the tournament, or until they reach semifinal play.

The UTA Mavericks (25-8) are the lone Sun Belt Conference school in the event, and will travel to face BYU (22-11) in first round action.

There are also three SEC schools in the tournament, including Ole Miss (20-13), Georgia (19-14), and Alabama (19-14).

Clemson is making its 16th appearance in the National Invitation Tournament, the most of any school in the 2017 field.
