What NFL quarterback is going to put up the best numbers in 2011? Mike Clay, of profootballfocus.com, lays out his 2011 quarterback player projections.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick
Wow! Clay predicts Vicks to throw for over 4,000 yards, and run for just under 700 yards.
Statistically speaking, I think Vick will have a good year, but I think those numbers are inflated.
Vick's career-high for passing yards in a single-season is 3,018 yards, which he accomplished last year. Now, he may improve on that number, but I doubt that he'll eclipse it by more than 1,000 yards, especially with him being a running quarterback, who is likely to miss a start, or two, due to injury.
The projected 693 rushing yards are much more in-line with my thinking. Considering Vick rushed for 676 yards a season ago, that number seems much more realistic, even though Vick is in his early 30's now.
