NFL.com is reporting that, despite reports to the contrary, the NFL has not made a settlement offer to suspended New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma.

However, the same source said that does not mean an offer won't be made in the future.

Vilma was suspended for the entire 2012 season by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for his alleged involvement in a "bounty program."  Vilma has not only denied the allegations, he has filed a defamation suit against Goodell and the league.

ESPN.com had reported the league was willing to cut Vilma's suspension in half if the linebacker would drop the suit.

The two sides are expected to back to court this Friday.
