All that former Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns running back Elijah McGuire wanted was a chance to get drafted in the 2017 NFL draft and to realize his dream of playing the in the NFL. Thanks to the New York Jets he will get that chance, who drafted him in the 6th round at #188 overall.

The former Cajun finished with 5,968 all-purpose yards which made him the all-time leader in school history for that category. McGuire finished with 52 total touchdowns and 4,312 rushing yards putting him in 2nd place in rush yards behind Tyrell Fenroy.

McGuire was one of the best running backs in the history of Ragin' Cajuns football. He has quick speed and can make people miss. He is not only a good player on the field but he's an even better person off the field.

Ragin' Cajuns head football coach Mark Hudspeth commented on Elijah McGuire getting drafted. Hudspeth said, "It's only fitting that Eli cap off a great career by being drafted into the National Football League. I'm excited for him as he continues to reach his goals as a new member of the New York Jets." Hudspeth continued, " He has always made us proud and we in Cajun Nation are very proud of him."

One thing is for sure, the New York Jets are getting a really good football player and can use him in many ways. He can run the ball with good speed and can catch passes out of the backfield and run it down the field with good speed.

All of Cajun Nation wishes Elijah the best of luck in the NFL and hope he has a successful career in the NFL.
