Former LSU wide receiver Russell Shepard has been signed by the New York Giants and Dave Gettleman for the second consecutive off-season. Last season Gettleman was the General Manager of the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants this year.

Shepard was signed as an undrafted free agent out of LSU in 2013 by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles waived Shepard right before the season started in '13 and was signed one day later on September 1 by the Tampa Bay Bucs.

The Giants signed him to a one-year deal worth $1.3 million dollars with the able to make $2 million with financial incentives, according NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

In five NFL seasons, Shepard has caught 47 balls to the tune of 634 yards and four touchdowns.
