The first round of the 2016 NFL Draft will be held on Thursday, April 28, in Chicago, Illinois.

Between now and then, we’ll be looking back at all of the drafts of the New Orleans, from 1967-2015.

Yesterday, we looked back at 1969.

Today: 1970

The 1970 draft was the fourth draft in the history of the Saints.

The pick: Ken Burrough, a receiver, out of Texas Southern.

Burrough became the fourth-ever first round draft choice of the Saints, taken with the 10th overall pick in 1970.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Burrough had a very successful NFL career. Unfortunately, just not for the Saints.

A 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide out, Burrough only spent the 1970 season with the Saints, catching 13 passes for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The next season, Burrough moved on to the Houston Oilers, where he played the next 11 seasons, compiling 408 catches for 6,906 yards and 47 touchdowns.

A two-time Pro Bowl selection in 1975 and 1977, Burrough led the league with 1,063 receiving yards in 1975.

An interesting side note on Burrough is that he is the last player to wear the number 00 in the NFL.

The Saints did make a solid pick in the third round, selecting defensive back Delles Howell, who was a starter for three years.

They also took running back Jim Otis in the 9th round and defensive tackle Doug Southerland in 14th round, both who went on to have successful NFL careers. Unfortunately, like Burrough, they both only spent one year with the Saints, before moving on to help other teams.

Otis was a Pro Bowl pick for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1975, while Southerland was a 7-year starter for the Minnesota Vikings, a member of the "Purple People Eater" defense.
