New Orleans Pelicans Unveil Mardi Gras Uniforms [Photos]

Last February, I wrote an opinion piece on the New Orleans Pelicans next alternate uniform. In a nutshell, I pleaded with them to bring back the Mardi Gras uniform.

While they likely never read it, I'm glad the Mardi Gras culture we know and love in south Louisiana is now back with the franchise.

Celebrating the culture where the team plays and owning it. That's what the Pelicans do with the Mardi Gras unis. Today, they unveiled the alternate heritage uniform.

While there's a slight difference from the older Mardi Gras uni (particularly the less than appealing inclusion of sleeves), these are still damn pretty.
