The NBA released its weekly Power Rankings via ESPN today and don't look now but the New Orleans Pelicans are streaking towards a decent seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Last week the Pelicans continued rolling, they were a solid 3-1 with the only defeat coming at the hands of the best team in the league, the Houston Rockets. They defeated the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, and Los Angeles Lakers all on their home court in Nola.

As it sits right now the Pels are tied with the San Antonio Spurs for the fifth seed, a half of a game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, and a game ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz.

The team has been steady in the rankings over the past few weeks, hovering just outside the top 10. This week they bumped up one spot from 12 to 11th overall in the NBA.

Here's what New Orleans has coming up this week:

  • Tuesday vs Portland Trailblazers-8pm
  • Friday at Cleveland Cavaliers-8pm
  • Sunday vs. Oklahoma City Thunder-6pm
