The NBA released its weekly Power Rankings via ESPN today and don't look now but the New Orleans Pelicans are streaking towards a decent seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Last week the Pelicans rebounded from the previous week in which they struggled, as they went from imperfect to perfect, winning all three of their games for a 3-0 week.

They were able to handle their business against two bottom feeder teams in the West in, Memphis and Phoenix but the most impressive win came AT GOLDEN STATE! The defeat of the Warriors was the most impressive win of the season for this Pels team as their record current stands at 46-34.

As it sits right now the Pelicans hold the fifth seed in the Western Conference, one game behind the Utah Jazz for fourth, tied with the Thunder and Spurs, and only a single game ahead of the T-Wolves and Nuggets.

The team has been steady in the rankings over the past few weeks, hovering just outside the top 10. This week they finally cracked the top 10, at number 10 as they moved up from 13th last week.

Here's what New Orleans has coming up this week as they close out the regular season:

  • Monday at Los Angeles Clippers-9:30pm
  • Wednesday vs. San Antonio Spurs-7pm
