NBA Postpones Training Camp, Cancels 43 Preseason Games
Still in the midst of a lockout, the NBA canceled all preseason games from October 9th to the 15th. Originally scheduled to begin October 3rd, player training camps for the 2011-12 season have been postponed indefinitely. With a new CBA agreement nowhere in sight, this probably won’t be the first NBA announcement of canceled games.
“We have regretfully reached the point on the calendar where we are not able to open training camps on time and need to cancel the first week of preseason games,” said NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver. “We will make further decisions as warranted.”
Those “further decisions” become more likely with each passing day.
