There were no big surprises in the NBA draft. As many mock drafts predicted, Duke guard Kyrie Irving went first overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Arizona PF Derrick Williams was the next selection, taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Hornets, without a first round selection, used their lone draft pick in the second round on Kentucky Center Josh Harrellson, then traded him to the New York Knicks for cash considerations.
