Nationals Secure Home Field Advantage

The Washington Nationals have secured home field advantage throughout the National League playoffs by beating the Philadelphia Phillies in the regular season finale.
The Nationals entered the day tied with the Cincinnati Reds for the NL’s best record. But the Nationals, by virtue of their win today, get the tiebreaker, having won the season series from the Reds.
Washington will open their playoff run Sunday, traveling to the home of the wild card winner between Atlanta and St. Louis. The Braves and Cardinals have a one game wild card playoff game on Friday.
Cincinnati will face West champion San Francisco in their Division Series.
The post season is the first for a baseball franchise in the nation’s capital since 1933.
