Louisiana Ragin' Cajun senior second baseman Natalie Fernandez continues to lead the Sun Belt Conference in hitting with only one week remaining in the 2014 regular season.

Postseason stats count, but with the final three games of the season for Louisiana scheduled this weekend against ULM, Fernandez leads her nearest rival by 25 percentage points.

Currently, Fernandez, a senior from Live Oak High School in Denham Springs, is hitting a .456, going 68-for-149 this season.

Fernandez, who has also drawn 30 walks, also leads the league in on-base percentage, at a .555, as well as hits, with 68, and runs scored, with 55.

WKU second baseman second baseman Olivia Watkins is currently second in hitting, batting a .431, with Georgia St. third baseman Lauren Coleman in third, hitting a .400.

Louisiana catcher Lexie Elkins, a teammate of Fernandez, is currently fourth in the conference in hitting, batting a .379.

The host the ULM Warhawks in a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference series this weekend, to close out their 2014 regular season schedule.

The two squads will square off in a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 o'clock, before doing battle in a single game on Sunday at 1 pm.
