Having already been named the Sun Belt Conference player of the week, Louisiana slugger Christi Orgeron was named the LSWA (Louisiana Sports Writers Association) hitter of the week today. She was also recognized as one of 30 candidates for the 2012 Lowe’s Senior Class Award.

The LSWA is a weekly award for hitters and pitchers voted upon by the state’s sports information directors. The senior slugger hit .818, with three doubles, two homeruns, 12 RBI, 1.636 slugging percentage and had an on base percentage of .857 for the Cajuns last weekend.

Orgeron is also now eligible for the 2012 Lowe's senior class award. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. Christi has excelled in all four.
