It was a big night for LSU's Brandon Harris Saturday night against New Mexico State.

Harris, a Bossier City native, came off the bench to lead LSU to touchdowns in seven straight possessions after starter Anthony Jennings was ineffective.  And as a result, Harris received two honors.

SEC Freshman of the Week.

And LSU's starting quarterback.

Harris was 11-14 for 178 yards and three touchdowns and added two scores on the ground in the Tigers 63-7 win.

Really he just did the things that we asked him to do, and that's honestly all he needs to do, make quality decisions with the ball, function the offense.  He took a missnap, a bad snap, and scored.  There is some "ad‑lib" to his game that's very, very positive, and he's a guy that is really fast and a guy that can really throw the ball.  You put him in a quality position to extend a play, some good things can happen.--LSU Coach Les Miles

Harris will get quite the baptism as the Tigers head to Alabama to take on #5 Auburn this Saturday.
