Miles Anticipates Michigan Meeting

Les Miles briefly spoke to the media today at a press conference for Patrick Peterson. The press conference was set-up for Peterson to announce that he is declaring himself eligible for the NFL draft. After Peterson’s announcement, the media shifted questions to Miles and the Michigan head coaching vancancy. ESPN.com and the AP has more.

LSU’s Les Miles said Monday he anticipates meeting with representatives from Michigan to discuss the Wolverines’ head coaching vacancy.

Miles says no one from Michigan has contacted him directly yet and that he does not know when such a meeting with his alma mater might take place. According to the Detroit News, Miles and Michigan are expected to meet on Tuesday.

Miles says he cannot speculate about the substance of such a meeting and also says he is “extremely happy” at LSU and that his family is comfortable living in Baton Rouge.

Expect this story to pick up more steam as the week continues. For a coach that is 62-17 in six years and has won a national championship, Miles still takes plenty of heat from some in the LSU fanbase. Miles played college football at Michigan under Bo Schembechler, then worked on the coaching staff as a graduate assistant, then as an offensive line coach.
