Drayton McLane, the millionaire businessman who brought the only Astros' World Series appearance to the City of Houston, is selling the franchise.

McLane has owned the Astros since 1992.  He purchased the club for $117 million dollars.  He will sell the franchise to a group of businessmen headed by Jim Crane.  Crane tried to buy the Astros in 2008 but was rebuffed.  More recently, Crane tried to be considered to purchase the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
