Wyatt Marks allowed just just three hits over seven innings and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns evened up their series with Arkansas State with a 5-2 win Saturday afternoon at Tomlinson Stadium in Jonesboro, AR.

Kennon Fontenot's seventh inning homer broke a 2-2 tie and Brad Antchak added a two run blast in the eighth to back Marks' effort as the Cajuns improved to 17-10 on the season, 7-4 in league play.  Arkansas State dropped to 13-13, 4-7.

Marks (3-2) allowed two infield hits in the third inning and a solo homer to Joe Schrimpf in the sixth.  He walked two and struck out eight in his 101 pitch performance.  Dylan Moore threw two hitless innings for his seventh save of the season.

The Cajuns got on the board in the first inning when Stefan Trosclair scored Brian MIlls with an RBI single, but the Red Wolves came right back with an unearned run on a Garrett Rucker sacrifice fly.  The Cajuns retook the lead in the second when Nick Thurman doubled and scored on Fontenot's single.

The lead held until the sixth when Schrimpf tied the game with his third homer of the season.  But Fontenot greeted reliever Tanner Kirby (0-1) with a line drive just inside the foul pole in left to give the Cajuns the lead for good.

The Cajuns put the game away in the eighth when Trosclair led off with a bunt single and moved to second on a throwing error by third baseman Tanner Ring.  Reliever Tony Ortiz retired pinch hitter Derek Herrington on a sacrifice bunt before Antchak hit his blast to left field to make the score 5-2.

Starter Adam Grantham did not figure in the decision after giving up four hits and two runs.  He walked four and struck out four.

Louisiana will go for the series win tomorrow afternoon at 1pm.  Freshman Nick Lee will get the start for the Cajuns.
