At SEC Media Days today, LSU basketball coach Will Wade said he has never done any business with the man accused of offering inducements to steer players to certain schools.

The questions came after multiple reports of a conversation between Wade and Christian Dawkins, a former runner for NBA agent Andy Miller  The reports of the conversation were not allowed to be admitted into the trial.  .

Casey Donnelly, an attorney for defendant Jim Gatto, an Adidas executive, tried to introduce evidence of that conversation.  While Donnelly did not submit a date of the conversation, FBI monitored one of Dawkins' cell phones between June 19th and September 15th of 2017.

According to the transcript, Dawkins asked Wade about his interest in seven foot center Balsa Koprivica.  On June 21, 2017, Koprivica tweeted he was "blessed to receive an offer from LSU."

Wade said:

I or we have never, ever done business of any kind with Christian Dawkins. That's what I'll say about that."

When asked if "business" meant any conversation between the two, Wade referred to his earlier statement. In a followup question as to whether he would answer any yes or no questions, Wade said he addressed that in his statement.

NCAA President and former LSU Chancellor Mark Emmert said the NCAA is tracking the trial "very closely."

Last February, Yahoo Sports reported Wade's recruiting tactics were being investigated by the NCAA stemming from his time as head coach of VCU.
