Are you not entertained?

LSU right handed pitcher Todd Peterson is going viral today after his improbable at bat in the 12th inning of yesterday's SEC tournament elimination game against South Carolina.

Head coach Paul Mainieri didn't want to take Peterson out, instructing him to simply stand at the plate and not swing. But what's the fun in that?

Peterson told Mainieri he hit "bombs" in high school, persuading the Tigers coach to let him take a swing. That's when the magic unfolded.

Several minutes later, he struck out the final batter of the game.

Postgame was just as entertaining, when Peterson explained how he convinced Mainieri to let him take a hack.

Peterson finally came clean in postgame, confessing in the postgame press conference he hadn't taken an at bat in a game since junior high, drawing a priceless reaction from Mainieri.

Thank you Todd.
