LSU Will Open 2017 College Football Season Against BYU In Texas Kickoff Classic

The LSU Tigers will begin their 2017 college football season by taking on the BYU Cougars in the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff Classic.

The game will be played Sept. 2 at NRG Stadium in Houston.

The contest will mark LSU's second appearance in the Texas Kickoff in four years, after defeating Wisconsin, 28-24, to open up the 2014 season.

2017 will also mark the first time, barring some kind of match-up in a bowl game over the next couple of years, that the two schools will face each other on the gridiron.

Texas A&M will take on Arizona State in the Texas Kickoff in 2015, while Oklahoma is scheduled to meet Houston in 2016.
