The LSU Tigers recorded their biggest win of the 2013-2014 men's college basketball season on Tuesday night, defeating the 11th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats, 87-82, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La.
LSU led wire-to-wire, including a 42-36 halftime advantage, and then hanging on for the five-point win.
The Tigers out-shot Kentucky from the field, 51%-44%, while blocking 11 shots and forcing 13 turnovers.
LSU also outscored the Wildcats from the free throw line, 16-9.
Johnny O'Bryant led the way for LSU, with a game-high 29 points, while pulling down nine rebounds, with Shavon Coleman adding 14 points and nine rebounds.
In a losing cause for Kentucky, James Young scored 23 points.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 13-6, overall, and 4-3 in SEC play, while the Wildcats fell to 15-5, overall, and 5-2 in league play.
