The LSU Tigers are headed to a postseason college football for a record 15th-straight season, after accepting an invitation to play in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, on Sunday.

LSU will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee on Dec. 30 at 2 p.m.

The Tigers, who won their 2014 regular season finale by defeating Texas A&M, 23-17, on Thanksgiving night, finished the season with an overall record of 8-4, with a 4-4 conference mark, which was good enough for a tie for fourth-place in the SEC West.

Notre Dame, an independent, will come into the bowl game with an overall record of 7-5.

LSU is 23-21-1, all-time, in bowl games, and will including a 21-14 win over Iowa in last year's Outback Bowl.

The all-time series is tied, 5-5, between the two schools, with LSU winning the last meeting, 41-14, in the 2007 Sugar Bowl.
