LSU Softball Falls To Arizona St., 6-0, Eliminated From Women’s College World Series
The LSU Tiger softball team was eliminated from the 2012 Women's College World Series on Saturday evening, after falling to the #3-national seed Arizona St. Sun Devils, 6-0, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The Sun Devils jumped on top, on a three-run home run by outfielder Alix Johnson in the third inning, making it 3-0.
Arizona St. later broke the game wide open in the fifth, scoring three runs with two outs in the inning, to make it 6-0.
From there, the Sun Devils never looked back, and went on the six-run vicotry.
Hillary Bach (22-1), who tossed a complete game four-hitter, recorded the win for Arizona St., while Rachele Fico (20-13) suffered the loss for the Tigers.
With the win, Arizona St. improves to 53-10 on the year, and moves into the semifinals on Sunday, when they take on Oklahoma at noon (cdt), while LSU's season comes to an end with a record of 40-25.
