The #3 ranked LSU Tigers physically wore down #25 Mississippi State in Starkville Thursday night to earn a 19-6 victory. The Tigers only led by 3 entering the 4th quarter, put pulled away in the final period. The Tiger defense was dominant all night, holding an explosive Bulldog rushing attack to only 52 yards on the ground. Overall, the LSU defense had 16 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, and 4 sacks.

Morris Claiborne (pictured left) reeled in 2 interceptions for the Tigers. Fellow cornerback Tyrann Mathieu led all tacklers with 10.

The lone touchdown of the game came on a 19 yard TD pass from Jarrett Lee to Rueben Randle at the 11:56 mark of the 4th quarter. Spencer Ware rushed for 107 yards in the winning effort.

Former Acadiana High standout Drew Alleman was 4 for 4 on field goals for LSU.
