#10 LSU (5-1) got all they could handle from Mississippi State...for 3 quarters. Entering the 4th quarter, LSU clung to a 31-26 lead. Then on the first play of the final frame, quarterback Zach Mettenberger threw a 33 yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. and the Tigers never looked back, defeating the Bulldogs 59-26.

Outscoring the Dogs 28-0 in the 4th quarter makes for a good box score, but the Tiger defensive struggles continue. Saturday night, LSU gave up 468 yards, including 216 rushing.

Fortunately for the Tigers, their offense continues to shine. Mettenberger threw for 340 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Jeremy Hill (16 car, 157 yds, 2 TD) led an LSU rushing attack that racked up 223 on the ground. Kenny Hilliard added 3 touchdowns on the ground, and Alfred Blue 1.

LSU's aerial assault has been as good as any in college football this year, thanks in large part to wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry (pictured).

Beckham Jr. reeled in 9 catches for 179 yards and 2 scores, while Landry caught 8 passes for 96 yards.

LSU has defeated Mississippi State 14 straight seasons, and 20 of the last 21. The Bulldogs lone victory over the Tigers in that time frame came in 1999 in Starkville.

The Tigers will return to Baton Rouge for a big SEC matchup next Saturday versus #19 Florida. The Gators won in Gainesville today, defeating Arkansas 30-10.
