The LSU Tigers have lost an outfielder from their roster.

Head coach Paul Mainieri said on Tuesday that sophomore outfielder Brody Wofford has decided to transfer.

Wofford, a native of Rome, Georgia, will play the 2017 season at Chipola College in Florida, and will have the opportunity to be re-recruited by Division 1 schools, in time for the 2018 season.

A left-handed hitter, Wofford appeared in 38 games as a freshman for LSU in 2016, hitting a .242 over 62 at-bats.

Despite the transfer of Wofford, LSU enters 2017 with a lot of depth in the outfield, including Antoine Duplantis and Greg Deichmann, who are projected starters, along with former St. Thomas More standout Brennan Breaux, Beau Jordan, Bryce Adams and freshman Zach Watson.

LSU opens their regular season schedule on February 17, when they host Air Force.
