The LSU Tiger baseball teams opens NCAA Super Regional play on Friday, playing host to the Stony Brook Seawolves, in the opening game of a best-of-three game series at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

The series marks the first meeting between LSU and Stony Brook, and marks the ninth Super Regional for the Tigers, who have won all of five of their previous home Super Regionals. LSU is seeking its 16th College World

LSU is 46-16 on the season, while Stony Brook, the America East Conference champions, comes in at 50-12.

Game one of the series is scheduled for Friday morning at 11 am (cdt). Sophomore right-hander Brandon McNitt (8-3, 2.69 ERA) will start on the hill for the Seawolves, while the Tigers will counter with freshman right-hander Aaron Nola (7-4, 3.66 ERA).

Game two, on Saturday, is also scheduled to begin at 11 am (cdt). Senior right-hander Tyler Johnson (11-1, 2.13 ERA) will get the start for Stony Brook, with sophomore right-hander Kevin Gausman (11-1, 2.72) getting the start for LSU.

A third game, if necessary, would take place on Sunday, at noon (cdt).
