LSU Opens Regional Play Defeating ULM, 4-1
The LSU Tiger baseball team opened-up play in the Baton Rouge, La.Regional by defeating the ULM Warhawks, 4-1, on Friday night at Alex Box Stadium.
Each team scored a run in the third inning, but the Tigers the top-seed in the regional, and the #7-national seed, tallied three runs in the seventh inning, and never looked back, en route to the three-run victory.
Freshman right-hander Aaron Nola (7-4) picked up the win for LSU, with left-hander Chris Cotton recording the save,while Randy Zeigler (5-7) suffered the loss for LSU.
With the win, LSU improved to 44-16 on the year, while ULM fell to 31-29.
LSU moves on to take on Oregon St. on Saturday evening at 7 pm. The Beavers defeated Belmont, 2-1, in the other regional game on Friday.
ULM will take on Belmont, in an elimination game, on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm.
