The LSU Tigers improved their record by seven wins over last year.

And, they've been rewarded with a berth in the National Invitation Tournament.

The Tigers are seeded 6th in the Washington Regional and will face third-seeded Oregon Tuesday night at 8:30.  The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Washington is the top seed in that region.  Dayton out of the Atlantic-10 is number two, followed by Oregon, Northwestern, Akron, LSU, Iowa and UT-Arlington.

Also from the SEC, Tennessee is the top seed in their region.  Miami (FL) is second, followed by Lasalle, Middle Tennessee out of the Sun Belt, Marshall, Minnesota, Valparaiso and Savannah State.

The winners of those two regions will meet in one semifinal at Madison Square Garden.

Mississippi State is the #4 seed in the Seton Hall region and will host Massachusetts in its first round game.  St. Joe's is the #2 seed followed by Drexel.  UCF is the sixth seed,.  Northern Iowa and Stony Brook round out the region.

Ole Miss is the #2 seed in the Arizona region. and will play $7 Illinois State.  Arizona will meet #8 Bucknell and Stanford plays host to Cleveland State.  #4 Oral Roberts and #5 Nevada round out the region.

Denver, who finished 21-9, did not make the field.  25 of the 32 teams in the NIT field won 20 games or more.
