The second-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Friday night, playing host to the Princeton Tigers in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, non-conference series at Alex Box Stadium at Skip Bertman Field in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The match-up marks the ninth game of a season-opening 13-game home stand for LSU.

The Tigers are currently 7-1 on the season, after defeating the Southeastern Lions, 9-8, in non-conference action on Thursday night.

Offensively, LSU is hitting a .343, along with five home runs, 57 runs batted in, and 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts, while out-scoring the opposition, 62-33.

Pitching-wise, the Tigers sport an overall, combined, team ERA. of 2.75, compared to a 7.62 for the opposition, while holding foes to a .227 batting average against.

For Princeton, Friday's game will mark their season opener, after going 14-26 in 2014.

The Tigers hit a .250 as a team as season ago, along with 12 homers, 133 RBI’s, and 22 steals in 28 attempts.

On the hill, Princeton had a team ERA. of a 5.16 last season, holding opponents to a .276 batting average against.

Game times for the series are 7 o'clock on Friday night, 4 pm on Saturday afternoon, and noon for the series finale on Sunday afternoon.

LSU leads the all-time series, 4-2.
