LSU Hosts Auburn In Big SEC Tilt

The 13th-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Saturday afternoon, when coach Les Miles’ squad plays host to the 18t-ranked Auburn Tigers in a key SEC match-up.

The game marks the first home game of the year for the Tigers, who had their scheduled season-opener against the McNeese St. Cowboys cancelled due to weather two weeks ago.

LSU opened their 2015 regular season schedule last week, defeating the Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 21-19, in Starkville, Mississippi, to begin the year 1-0, overall, and 1-0 in SEC play.

Offensively, LSU is averaging 21.0 points, 337.0 total yards, 266.0 rushing yards, and 71.0 passing yards per game, while allowing 19.0 points, 378.0 total yards, 43.0 rushing yards, and 335.0 passing yards a contest, defensively.

LSU is led by sophomore running back Leonard Fournette, who piled up 159 rushing yards, including three touchdowns, in the opener against Mississippi St. last week.

Auburn, who will be playing their conference opener, won their second-consecutive game of the season, defeating Jacksonville St., 27-20, in overtime, last week, to improve to 2-0, overall.

The Auburn offense is averaging 29.0 points per game, along with 364.0 yards, including 237 passing yards and 205 rushing yards, while allowing 22.0 points, 421.5 total yards, including 222.0 passing yards and 195.5 rushing yards.

Auburn is paced by sophomore running back Peyton Barber, who has compiled 240 rushing yards, along with one score, so far this season.

LSU leads the all-time series, 27-21, but Auburn won last year, 41-7, snapping a 3-game win streak by LSU.

Kickoff time at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge is set for 2:30 pm.
