Earlier this month, LSU took what could only be described as a really bad loss at home against Auburn.

Tuesday night, the Tigers made a statement to Auburn and the NCAA Selection Committee.

Jarell Martin had his second straight big game and LSU shot a sizzling .578 from the field in swamping Bruce Pearl's club, 84-61.

The win gave LSU its 20th win of the season and pushed its SEC record to 9-6.

LSU had a big game inside as the Tigers outscored Auburn in the paint, 52-18.  Martin, who had 28 points and 13 rebounds in the win against Florida on Saturday, nearly duplicated the feat, with 25 points and 12 boards Tuesday night.

In addition, LSU had three other players in double figures as Jalyn Patterson scored 16 points, Jordan Mickey added 13 points and Kyle Hornsby 12.

LSU will have an opportunity to solidify its position in the NCAA tournament field when they host Ole Miss (19-8, 10-4) Saturday at the PMAC.
