The LSU Tigers fell in their opening game of the 2013 College World Series on Sunday night, dropping a 2-1 decision, to the UCLA Bruins, in Omaha, Nebraska.

LSU grabbed the lead in the bottom half of the fourth inning, when Mason Katz belted a solo home run, to make it 1-0.

UCLA capitalized on two Tiger errors later in the game, scoring unearned runs in the sixth and eighth innings, giving the Bruins both of their runs, and the eventual one-run win.

Adam Plutko (9-3) got the win for UCLA, allowing four hits in seven innings of work, with David Berg recording his 22nd save of the year, while Aaron Nola (12-1), who gave up five singles in eight innings, while not allowing an earned run, suffered his first loss of the season.

With the win, the Bruins improved to 45-17, and move into the winners bracket, to take on North Carolina St. on Tuesday, while the Tigers fell 57-10, and drop into the elimination bracket, where they will face North Carolina on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
