LSU Falls To Miss. St., 76-71 – Game Recap
The LSU Tiger men's basketball team suffered their second-consecutive SEC road defeat on Wednesday night, falling to the 16th-ranked Mississippi St. Bullldogs, 76-71, in Starkville, Mississippi.
Mississippi St. led by a single point, 32-31, at half, before extending that lead to as many as 11 points in the second half, and then hanging on for the five-point victory.
The Bulldogs were able to out-shoot LSU from the field, 44%-43%, but the difference was on the boards, where Mississippi St. had 40-23 advantage.
Leading the way for Mississippi St. was junior forward Arnett Moultrie, who had a game-high 28 points, to go along with 12 rebounds, while sophomore guard Andre Stringer paced the Tigers in a losing cause, with 17 points, off the bench.
With the win, Mississippi St. improved to 17-4 overall, and 4-2 in SEC play, while LSU fell to 12-8 overall, and 2-4 in league play.
