The LSU Tigers return to action on Saturday evening, playing host to the Mississippi St. Bulldogs in an SEC match-up at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

The game, which marks the SEC opener for LSU, will be televised on ESPN2.

LSU, who defeated Jacksonville St., 34-13, last Saturday, after falling to the Wisconsin Badgers, 16-14, in their season opener, is 1-1 on the young season.

Offensively, LSU is averaging 24.0 points, 314.0 total yards, 185.0 rushing yards, and 129.0 passing yards-per-game, while allowing 14.5 points, 353.5 total yards, 127.0 rushing yards, and 226.5 passing yards a contest, defensively.

LSU is led by junior running back Leonard Fournette, who has piled up 138 yards on 23 carries, after gaining 1,953 rushing yards, including 22 touchdowns, a season ago.

Mississippi St., who won their SEC opener last week, defeating South Carolina, 27-14, will enter the match-up at 1-1, overall, and 1-0 in league play.

The Bulldogs are averaging 23.5 points-per-game, to go along with 433.5 total yards, including 169.0 passing yards and 264.5 rushing yards, while allowing 17.5 points, 311.0 total yards, including 247.0 passing yards and 64.0 rushing yards.

Mississippi St. is paced by sophomore quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, who has thrown for 178 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another 206 yards.

LSU leads the all-time series, 72-34-3, and has won the last five match-ups between the two schools.

Kickoff time is set for 6 o'clock.
