The LSU Tigers basketball team needed momentum heading into the SEC tournament. They didn't get it in Lexington on Saturday afternoon, getting drilled by #22 Kentucky 94-77.

On a day when reports topped headlines of Tigers freshmen star Ben Simmons being ineligible for the Wooden Award due to poor academics, he put up his typical impressive stat line, going for 17 points ,11 boards and 7 assists. However, he and his teammates continued their defensive woes.

The Wildcats dominated on their senior day, shooting better than 50% in each half.

Tyler Ulis chipped in 14 points an 14 rebounds for the Wildcats, while senior Alex Poythress scored 12 in his final home game, drawing cheers from the Wildcat faithful throughout.

With the loss, LSU ends the regular season at 18-13, needing to win the SEC tournament next week in Nashville in order to make the NCAA tournament.

Kentucky improves to 22-8 with the victory, winning a share of the regular season SEC title.
